Otemoto are a new sushi take-out service like no other. Based in Glasgow and a variety of locations around Scotland we only use fresh, local produce to serve up the best & healthy sushi around. At Otemoto we like to put you in charge! Your sushi, your way!
As for the name, Otemoto, something universal within the sushi community was needed. So we sourced the sushi term for ‘Chopsticks’, as anywhere in the world, whether you dining in an authentic sushi restaurant or you’ve grabbed some quick take out.... it’s always served with chopsticks, so we felt this was an appropriate name.
As a brand Otemoto supplies fast, pre-prepared tasty sushi, fresh from the sea. Our food is nutritious, tasty and can be delivered to you very door within an hour on one of our Otemoto-mobiles (aka bikes!) Yes we deliver on bikes, what can we say, we like to keep out carbon footprint clean!
Otemoto, as a brand, mesh together the cultures of Japan and Scotland. The visual style is themed around the fishing industry, which both cultures have a large connection to and mixing this with a retro style which is current within the market they are targeting.
The brief was to design a visual language for the brand along with a website that would drive the customers to using the app (which is where you can order sushi from) and implement some form of content strategy to keep the customers returning. In this case the website was designed with a blog in mind so the site has updated content that the customers may have interest in. The site also had a promos section where you can only receive the promos by signing up to Otemoto’s mailing list which you can only do through the site.
In terms of getting the brands name out there, every new customer that orders sushi is prompted to “pay with a tweet” or some form of social media share. This would not cost any money as such but send out to their followers a marketing tweet saying that they ordered some awesome sushi and how other people can join in.
